MaxInt is the upper limit there.
You probably do have something trashing your memory.
I suggest you look into the alternative Memory Manager MM4?
It has excellent options for when debugging to detect trashed memory causes.

Subject: [IBO] IBOTDataset limitations?
Is there an upper limit for either IBOTDataset's _ConnectionLinkCount or
DatasetCount properties?
We've got an application that's showing 3205-3220 counts at the time
that an RBuilder report fails to preview. It only happens with the most
recently-created report; all other reports appear to be working fine.
The symptoms are as if something is stomping on memory somewhere...
Any insight helpful...
