Forgot to check that I had a CLEAN copy of the new code base :(
I've reloaded that and can now compile a clean copy again ...

New project -> add an IB_Connection -> Edit Component -> add database name and
password -> click on 'connect' -> bcb6 closes down to desktop, no errors in the
log files that I can find
