Good introduction.
On point #2 of the transaction states you could add in the cases of
executing DDL, posting an event alerter event or deleting a record. These
will also cause the transaction to be considered active.
On point #2 of the timeout props there is a typo. Instead of saying
'starting' you can just say 'start'.
Everything else you spoke of was accurate.
