I was talking with Vlad Khorsun about this.

He said a related problem was fixed 1.5 years ago in Firebird. At last
in recent FB versions, generators page are flushed when *any*
transaction is commited/rolledback.

So, Ed, please try with FB 2.5.1 and see if the problem still exists.
Also, remember to have Forced Writes ON. If you can reproduce it with
FB 2.5.1, please open a issue in the Firebird tracker, and attach your
code example to it.
