No rush (...any time in the next 10 minutes ;-)

What sort of blob data are talking about?
. many small text blobs
. larger binary (image?) blobs
. actual blob data with every row, 50% of rows
or what?

With your result times it would be good to have description of
the data (how many fields, how many of those fields are text or
binary blobs etc). Just enough to see if I can find a similar
mix from my own databases so that I can get a good comparison
to what you are actually doing. (In my experience with DBak
I've seen transfers vary from 300 rows per second to over 5000
rows per second - in the same database - depending on the mix
of data.) Knowing what sort of data we are dealing with may
help to explain the performance differences and perhaps
demonstrate a problem that can be fixed.

My interest in this is partly self-interest. I am spending
time on IBO for my own project (after a long time using the
same "old" v4.8.7 of IBO), if there are outstanding performance
issues to be resolved I would like to know while I am working
on this stuff.
