If you mean the keysource dataset by this: yes, it is in edit mode.
But my description of the problem was a bit to vague: not only the
LookupCombo is not shown in the grid, even the field showing the
lookup value is not displayed at all (in the grid).

This leads me to the following question:
if I drop a lookup combo that works properly outside a grid onto
a grid, how does the grid know that it is now supposed to display
the lookup field. Is this done automagically (this was my assumption
after reading the documentation) or do I have to toggle any additional settings?
