Not a lot more. I used to do regular support and documentation work for Jason under contract but have not been officially doing so for a year now.

I *think* that has to do with the remote part of Idaho that Jason and his family moved to earlier in the year. He seems to be limited to occasions when he's visiting somewhere he can get an Internet connection.

I did hear from Jason last week, when he sent me a message asking me to put those notes onto his website regarding D2009 and IB2009. (That's why I think he's probably still without Internet access...) I doubt he'd have asked me to do that unless he'd managed to get the software; and I don't think he'd have purchased the software if he wasn't serious about using it for something.

It should be 4.8.7, which is what I'm using. Maybe that's a misnaming. But I never use the installer kits, always the zip kit, so I can't test the theory of the misnaming. You'll find the elements of the current version in ib_constants.pas.

Yes. It's been a rough couple of years for component developers with the total uncertainty about the future of Delphi. I guess everyone would still be in that boat if Embarcadero had not stepped into the picture. I seem to recall that Jason has some history with some of the Embarcadero (not Codegear) guys so it could be that he's heard something to arouse a bit of confidence...but I'm only conjecturing here.

Can't comment on that, other than to suggest that if that had been on his mind, I'm pretty certain he would have raised it with Geoff and me, if not directly in the list. Nothing he's said to me indicates he's ready to walk away from IBO if there's a future in it.
