I've got a bit stuck in the middle here. I had to upgrade to v4.7 because
4.6Bc was 'seriously broken'. As a result it seems I am tripping over
restrictions introduced in FB2 - it will be quite a while before I can look
at FB2 - Im still trying to get customers off IB5.6!

I know about the need to alias accurately because I'v seen many references
to it in the FirebirdSQL list.

I'm now learning the hard way about brackets in joins - what else is going
to bite me and where should I read about it?

Is 4.7 not intended to be compatible with old apps? Just in case I cant
catch up quickly enough what is the last stable version that is?
