Not sure on that - I'm still on an old version for much the same reason.

This DOES sound like an old problem, but I doubt that the other fix will
work now. On IB5 we had to use the client library from 5.1 with the
server from 5.6 (and I think 6?) to stop an error message when closing
after using Events.

It sounds as if there is still a remnant of that problem somewhere in
the Firebird code base?

Personally I've used my own message system on the side for years - that
way I can also sent record numbers - so I've not had to use Events for
some time :(
