complex, buggy and support is not very good and so I thought I'd try to use
some of the other IBO stuff.
I've never used a control grid at all before and thought I'd check it out.

a field in another.
Why would it require a navigator? What's the difference between scrolling
with the scroll bar (or jumping to other records with the mouse) and using
the navigator?

And in one case I want to present totally different information from the
underlying data, not just a reformating of it.
I tried a calculated field as well. With that often times it would be blank
when I scrolled to a new record. I think if it requires using the navigator
then maybye this grid is not the right control for my purpose.
