All,
I think and update on this question is in order.
I am working on the release NON-STOP until it is released. 16 hour days.
IBO 4.7 will be released when I have swatted all the bugs that could be
show-stoppers. It's getting closer, more solid and better by the hour. As
for when exactly it will be released is a function of how much stuff I have
to swat down to absolutely support everything Firebird 2.0 is making
possible/required. I admit I grossly underestimated the impact of some of
the changes and I am not enjoying standing out here in public with my pants
at my ankles. But, such is life, and there is no time to cry and make
excuses for myself.
My intuition tells me that inside of this week I will have it sufficiently
solid for production builds to be made with IBO 4.7. The biggest help I
could ask for is to have people get the beta releases I am putting out on
the Trustware repository site and running as many tests as possible. The
benefit of doing so is their issues, if there are any, will be resolved with
priority.
FYI, EXECUTE BLOCK is broken in 4.7 Beta4 but it is already fixed in Beta5.
I'll release it here in just a bit. One thing I really like about EXECUTE
BLOCK is it makes it so that I can get record counts of aggregate queries
now. I plan to put that in at some point.
Kind regards,
Jason Wharton
