I was the one that originally wrote this tutorial, and when
I wrote it the code you see commented was not commented.
Indeed without that code the whole thing does not make much
sense (as pausing will occur in the middle of typing as you
have seen).

I dont know why the code was commented out. Try putting the
code back in and see if the concept starts to make any more
sense to you.
