Subject R: [IBO] BDE-to-IBO conversion: performance issues
Author Enrico Raviglione
Hi Jason,

i have a lot of different scenario:
- i have one query on a table with a large number of columns;
- i have a lot of queries on tables with only 3 or 4 columns (but if i
open all this queries at the same time i must wait a lot ...)

The problem (i think) are not focused on a specific operation.
I think there are something that must be speed-up or changed, as
metadata loading operation or some other operation that are executed at
opening time.

In my example (a very stupid program that open only a lot of queries)
you can see how long this operation are if you compare it with the other
example (who differ only for connection/query components).

My example are not only an example, but some datamodule or part of it
are extracted from a real application as i do for database tables. You
can see how in this database i have tables with a lot of number of
columns (and row...) and also a lot of very little tables.

Best Regards,
Enrico Raviglione.

Ok, thanks.

Do you have tables or queries with large number of columns? There might
be something going on with this aspect of things.

Jason
