I use trichview with native IB_ components.
The only time I have to use the TDataset IBO components is when I need to
report to QuickReports which doesn't understand native IBO and I also have
to convert to rtf which is a pain.
I finally created my own reporting using nothing but native.
OTH as Lester said, there's no probs mixing native with tdataset
