You do not need to use GeneratorLink - but I think it is the best way of
doing it.
Try having a look at
http://www.ibobjects.com/docs/ti_AuditableSeries.ZIP
It may give you some pointers, but if you do not need to get at the
inserted record after adding it, then the normal Firebird insert trigger
can still be used.
