When they are only 2 char wide and live inside of GroupBoxes, when you
make them go wide, it gets cut off by the GroupBox.

Can't you use the width property of the combo box? In the combo drop
down procedure use cb.width = big number. In the combo close up
procedure use cb.width = small number.
