It is supposed to enable an alternative source of message text. I don't
know any more about it.

interbase.log, in the server's root directory. I guess there's nothing to
stop you from logging the error messages that come to the client: just
make it part of your error trapping routines to write the code and the
message out to a logfile. Some error conditions couldn't be logged,
though, specifically those that caused the server or the client application
to crash.
