Ben,
sorry for being unclear, hadn't got Delphi at hand.
All my components inherit from or have access to an IB_Component, so
I was easily fooled by the IB_Session identifier being always
awailable and assume it was a global. As you have seen, it's not.

Just a design decision, IMHO.

You'll find there are more things that prevent the TIBO* flavour
from being a complete drop-in replacement for nontrivial applications.
I am waiting for a number of fixes myself, but (fortunately?) it looks
like the majority of people here use native IBO (the TIB_* flavour),
or don't go very far beyond database wizard style apps.
