Subject Re: [IBO] Data Pump Problem

For those not following the firebird_support thread...

What Marco and I would like is for a couple of volunteers to
test the IBO IB_SQL datapump utility on systems running
Intel P4s with Hyperthreading enabled (and obviously Windows
XP in order for HT to make any difference).

Marco's system has a single physical P4 Xeon processor.
With HT enabled the datapump runs very very slow.
With HT disabled the datapump runs fast.

My system has dual physical P4 Xeon processors.
With HT enabled the datapump runs fast.

What we need to find out is whether the problem happens on all
single P4 systems with HT enabled, or is the problem specific
to single Xeon systems (Xeon being processors designed for
true SMP - supporting multiple physical processors)

Finding out the extent of the problem may help work out what
is causing the problem and what can be done to fix it.

It is not clear at this point whether the problem is specific
to IBO, or whether it will impact all multi-connection (not
specifically multi-threaded) applications.
