If you want to use 3rd party database tools (like Infopower,etc.) so
your option is to use the Tdataset derived components.

If you do not need those tools you can use the native data access
components with the native IBO controls that are optimized for IB/FB.

The TDataset components only encapsulates a native TIB_Query so the
performance is almost the same (regarding the performance of the data
access components).
