I don't think IBO will be reading Firebird's conf file.

I think Jason and Geoff are trying to find a solution on how to detect
the order of the parameters that the server accepts. With Firebird
1.5, it is configurable, but for those using Firebird 1.0 or
Interbase, it is not. And, there is a way to detect which parameter
configuration is used, without having to know exactly which version of
Firebird or Interbase is running. And, if I'm not mistaken, the test
can be performed with a query.
