I've seen some comments on this on the Firebird-devel list.
So which version of Firebird/IB and which OS. I'm not sure
that is should be a Delphi problem, but it may be that the
same problem is present in the D5 libraries?

I always add machine names to the HOSTS file, and so don't
see the problem anyway.
