I will support both as well as I can. There may be some things added that I
will leave to others to do. For example, IB has the services API and someone
in the community donated code for IBO to access that. But, it isn't (yet) an
official part of IBO. I am going to tend to favor and support those things
which are common to both and maintain a specialty for the data access layer.

Firebird 1.x is in excellent shape and should serve your needs well.
