Hi Sergio!
There are several things to consider when selecting between TIBO and TIB_,
one of them being whether you need to interact with other tools. IB_ is not
TDataset compliant, meaning that it can only communicate with tools
specifically written with TIB_ in mind. I think ReportBuilder and
FastReport is capable of this (at least in registered versions), whereas I
haven't heard of there being any QuickReport components able to work with
TIB_. Note that I do not use any reporting tools myself, so I'm only saying
this from what I remember to have read on this list.
As for your other question, I have no idea why a float field should be
transformed into an integer field. I cannot remember to have read about
that problem here before, and it is the type of error that I would expect
to surface quickly. You have verified that your field is defined as FLOAT
and not NUMERIC(18,0) or something?
