Hi,
just thought I should tell you that moving from Paradox to Firebird is not
just moving from one database to another. You are moving from a desktop
database to a client/server database, something which means you also have
to change your way of thinking a little bit. Forget how you use tables with
the BDE/Paradox, and change to using result sets only transferring the data
you are interested in (the most common mistake when moving from desktop to
client/server, I guess is the tendency to still desire a 'spreadsheet look'
with grids containing lots of records).
In general, I think you'll find that ib-support@yahoogroups.com is a place
where you may want to ask a few questions in the future (e.g. your question
regarding Paradox to Firebird conversion belongs there).
Hope you'll succeed in your journey discovering Firebird,
