ah ha! yes - see my last post.
So if you wanted to go to a bookmark afteropening, but it's not the first
open, and it's also still before the user sees the grid, where would you
trigger the locate?

I open the query without a 'filter' before doing any
'Locate' work. It will only fetch records as it needs them,
but obviously it needs to fetch a set of files around the
locate to display them.
