if you are new to FB then may I suggest you wander over to

http://firebird.sourceforge.net

and follow the links to documentation, where you can download the docs for
data definitions etc. There is also a novice's guide from the link on the
home page.


In the meantime, a blob sub type 1 is a text blob.
Sub type zero is a binary blob.

Could you explain what sub_type 1 is. I am new to FB and don't know how
everything works yet.
