I'd have to agree and as I originally said in my first post, I believe the
current behaviour to be correct.


PS. I was trying to watch my quoting and made sure I deleted everything
below my post, however, looking back I see that I ended up quoting an entire
thread - apologies, either my fingers don't work, or Outlook is playing
silly beggars again. Sorry.

at the risk of playing the devil's advocate role, I'd say that your
change would break existing applications.
Currently one can write:

MyConnection.Connected := True;
// do something, being sure that MyConnection.Connected is True.
MyConnection.Connected := False;
