They are - for example, if you had already installed the X sub-release,
then the latest full patch (e.g. Xy) would patch you up to date even if you
had missed Xa, Xb, etc. But I think this time around you need to get and
unzip Hg before you add Hh_patch and Hi_patch, which appear to be patches
on patches.
