No you cannot currently disable a particular button (without making it
invisible). Note that datasource AutoEdit and AutoInsert options
could circumvent such a capability.

Instead alter the PreventEditing/PreventInserting etc options on the
dataset itself - which will ensure the dataset cannot enter the states
specified.
