Subject Re: [IBO] Suggestion for Team IBO
Author Jason Wharton
Here's some ground rules I want recognized in this:

1) TeamIBO isn't to be considered an "award". I prefer to avoid any
competitive aspects in the community. I tend to also prefer more of a
no-nonsense approach to things. While gratifying, stroking ego's isn't good
for the charitable aspects which I think really make a big difference in the
community. It tends to undermine my drive to have my ego stroked, not sure
about others. Keeping things no-nonsense shouldn't be confused with "absence
of humor", which I hope to see more of. There's room for good laughs in all
aspects of life.

2) TeamIBO is meant to recognize those individuals who have time and
capacity to be a consistent contributor to the list and whose knowledge of
IBO is at an expert level. In other words, what they are saying can be
relied upon with the same merit as if I were saying it. This has the purpose
of allowing people who are new to the list to know they are getting an
answer from a recognized expert and that they can take a greater measure of
confidence in what is provided to them.

3) TeamIBO status or non-status of a person isn't something to be discussed
on the list by the community. I don't want people getting offended or
pressured. We will have three initial TeamIBO members if they accept, who
are Geoff Worboys, Lester Caine and Helen Borrie. Please include TeamIBO in
your sig-line and if possible your name as seen in the From line. I expect
more will be added.

4) TeamIBO members will receive nominations in private from community
members and otherwise keep an eye out for other people who should be given
the status of TeamIBO. TeamIBO members will unanimously approve of an
individual to be added between themselves and then submit it to me for final
approval. I will then extend the invitation for them to join the ranks if
they chose to. If they accept it will be announced by me.

I think this should be sufficient to proceed forward.

Thanks to all!
