Hi Geoff & Jason,
This is my "contribution":
I think passwords exists to be used. So, I will never hard code my
password in the program or in the registry.
If I have to do this it will be for an application that does an
automatic login. In this case, I will not need to show the user
a "Login Screen", and I will work on the better & personnal way to
store my passw.
But I love to have my password in there when I'm building the
application. So, it's fine for me to have the password inside the
program when I'm working on it.
So, my opinion is to keep thinks as they are. They are ok and they
are documented. The documentation is very explicit. I don't know why
they are "people to accidently distribute their password". This seen
like a bug in the application, in the same way no one should deliver
debug code accindently.
