I don't think I had gone back enough.

The problem may be in the prepare. When first used,
<Execute> runs the code for <Prepare> again, while on the
second pass it just goes straight to the execute.

When using <Prepare>, the 'Prepared' is set on exit, but
when going back in with <Execute> it has been cleared again?
