in the US they use a 64K DDS circuit for frame relay up to 64K, anything
larger is a fractional T1.5 circuit. So my frame relay costs me about
$150US a month out in the country (about 20 miles from local telco office
and its terminating about 100 miles away into the local isps ATM circuit),
T1.5 woulda been about $1500US as I would have to pay for a long run. It
may help that its fiber up to 3 miles from my home, and it may also help
that I pay no isp charges (well technically I dont pay the $150 either,
they isp does since I consult for them and they need me to have a solid
link to their systems).
