following all the answers, I would add that you not only should sign
when the contract feels good, but, you MUST have a lawyer specialized
in intellectual property read it too.

he might notice loopholes, potholes, and regular holes that neither
you nor the customer would have even tought about until you endup in
court and the contract goes under scrutiny.

better safe than sorry, and the game is CYA.

and while you're at it, add the price of the lawyer consultation to
the final price of the code. hey...
