sorry but I am creating the DM as the first form in the dpr. I have fallen
into that trap b4 and it is the 1st thing that I check 4 b4 I put up my
hand.

there is no code in the oncreate of the DM, and the only other components on
the DM are Delphi's DataSource.

I did try putting a messagedlg into the on create but it never made it.

He is probably using a form and not creating the datamodule prior to the
form in the for creation order of the project.
