I done a mistake in my previous post, because I was thinking you still are
asking about services api.

You can encode password in IB but you can't decode it.
The alghoritm is one way.

Geoff started to convert services api similar to IBX times ago.
I think this don't include functions to write passwords directly to
ISC4.gdb.

I have a rotine that I get a long time ago in a web to encode passwords as
IB do. I never tested it.

I think also is not a good thing write directly to ISC4.gdb without use of
api.
Jason created code to manipulate users account to do it without problems.
