They are a lot more reliable when used in conjunction with IBO.
They did seem to have problems with IB5.6 and BDE because they require a
permanently open connection to the server. If your network was
'silghtly' unreliable this resulted in the connection being lost, but
left open by IB5.6, and you had to start the program again to
re-connect.
IB6 closes the connection and does not need regular shutdown and
backup/restores to sweep the dros. Even with IBO, IB5.6 has problems
unless the network NEVER fails.
