I didn't atually get the setrange working. What happend was I issued
a setrange then changed the filter in that order (at no point did I
cancel the range). When I applied the setrange no records where
returned. When I changed the filter Thousands of records where
returned. The changing of the filter wiped out the where cause
information but in by the setrange.

I have example I can set to you for a clearer understanding.
