Thanks. That's how it works for Oracle, too. However, I don't follow the
need for the NOCASE ColumnAttribute. Won't I be searching on the uppercase
index? Forgive my ignorance here.

Sounds like I'm going to have to purchase the documentation after all, huh?

No, you have to maintain an uppercase equivalent column and put an index on
it.
Then, there is a NOCASE ColumnAttribute setting which will tell IBO to
substitute appropriately to accomplish case insensitive searching, etc.
