much friendlier towards application where the connection itself can go away
and then be established again in order to apply updates, etc. All this
without causing datasets to be closed.
In short, it won't be completely like the briefcase model but it will allow
apps to be written so that connections are conserved a lot more. Thus, a
person could avoid having to go to a multi-tier application model for simple
applications that actually spend more time accumulating data on the client
and processing data in short bursts to the server.
There will be connection timeouts similar to how I have transaction timeouts
for OAT processing.
