I think this problem has been isolated before. It is in Tutorial1 of the
BasicTutorials. When populating the ITEM table, the BarCode get added
'.0000000000' using IB6 causing the 'string truncation' error.

I don't think a proper solution has been implemented, but a workaround is
to change the domain T_CODE in the scrMain script from VARCHAR(20) to
VARCHAR(30).
