Subject Re: IBO advantages over IBX

I am relatively new to both IB & IBO, but after having read all the
posts to this thread, I have to throw in my two cents.

From my view point, IB going open source is probably the best thing
that could have happened to IBO. Prior to IB going open source, I
really did not pay much attention to it. Although it seamed like a
nice product, I never felt it would compete with Oracle or SQL
Server. Now that it is open source, I would image several shops are
now seriously considering it as a base platform.

As with most Delphi components, third party vendors typically have
something better to offer. This is obviously the case with IBO and as
InterBase becomes more widely used, it's only natural that developers
will be seeking better tools. After deciding on InterBase as a base
platform, the very first thing I did was to seek out better tools and
had no trouble finding IBO.

If IBO sales are not already going up considerably, I would imagine
they will in the near future.

From what I have seen, IBO has an unblemished reputation and damn
near everyone in the IB community is using it.

Just my 2 cents,
