I think we should really welcome discussion such as the one from Nando
Dessena. Critically reviewing the arguments as a 'Devil's Advocate' will
help on the precision level. I agree with Nando (hope I did not
misunderstand!) that one should be careful when wording criticisms against
'competing' products. Do point out all the good points of IBO - you can
truly say that no competing product is on the level of IBO, but directly
saying that competitor X is crap may turn people off. Build an image of
IBO as the best product by a large margin (architecture, richness of
features, level of support, future development, ...), but if at all
possible try to avoid wars (I can understand frustration, nevertheless
...). Any ideas how to bring IBO to the attention of developers, old and new?
As we all know, being successful in the market takes more than a good
product.
