The app that I'm converting belongs to someone else and is available
for 4 other DB platforms at present; all versions use the same
indexes. The application code is quite generic with a few tweaks
here and there for DB specific items.

This will be the second C/S version for that software.

I do understand what you are saying about C/S vs file based, and I
will keep that in mind. I'll have to discuss this issue with the
owner of the code.
