Two last things come to mind...
- a memory issue on the server
What happens if you change page buffers?
- a disk issue on the server
What happens if you leave the original file on the server and try a copy
of the database
on a different disk location
on a different disk
on a different computer?
Just thinking along... there must be a bottleneck somewhere...
