I think you are a bit lost :)
Firebird 3.0 Embedded is available since the release of Firebird 3 :) Actually, in Firebird 3, when you connect to a database using only the database file path as the connection string, you get an embedded connection by default. Maybe your confusion is because FB 3 has no separated download for the embedded version.
PS: You may want to check my Migration Guide to Firebird at https://www.firebirdnews.org/migration-guide-to-firebird-3/

I am currently using Firebird Embedded edition for a military simulation I have been working on. I have seen recently that Firebird 3.0 has just been released with a brand new User-Guide. Along with this, I noticed that Firebird 4.0 is now on the books for development. However, in the interim will the Firebird Team be releasing a 3.0 version of their embedded database engine to match the internals of their recent release for their server engine? Or has Firebird Embedded Edition reached a level of maturity that it requires no further development at this time? Thank you... Steve Naidamast Sr. Software Engineer blackfalconsoftware@... |
