Hi All, Can someone give us an idea how firebird database engine can be benefit from a PCIE SSD such as Intel P3700 400GB ? We just got two of those and installed to our server for our firebird database, they are raid 0 for redundancy. But we are not getting much speed improvement according to the specs from those two drives. |
What are the specs of the drives that you are comparing to? Are you comparing against a regular hard-drive or a SSD, and which SATA(1, 2 or 3) or SCSI?
Also, raid 0 is just a mirrored drive, where the data is written to both drives simultaneously, but the reading is only performed from one drive.

I don't think that there are any particular configuration in Firebird that could help. But, it might be a configuration in the raid settings, and that might be with experimentation, since the settings from one configuration might not be the optimum for another.
