Hi,
advantage of SmallInt vs INT vs BIGINT is data density (keep record shortest as possible).
If you have one column, it is irrelevant, if you have ten columns, you will see speed improvement.

Hi,
In 2014 I was at the FB conference in Prague. If I remember correctly, Ann Harrison told the audience that there are no advantages when using SMALLINT or INT versus BIGINT. But I don’t remember the reason. Was it the block size of modern architecture? Maybe Ann can make it clear again? Or someone else. Would be great.
Thank you
