Actually, you probably don't need to DROP the old function declarations. In 2.5 you can alter them:

ALTER EXTERNAL FUNCTION funcname
[ENTRY_POINT 'new_entry_point']
[MODULE_NAME 'new_library_name'];

So you should be able to script these alterations, keeping the funcnames but changing the entry_point and module_name parameters.

Don't forget to COMMIT.
